Beautiful Crystal River, the winter home of the manatee, is only 3 hours from Kingsland. We'll stay at The Port Hotel Resort and Marina, with onsite restaurant & bar, and board our pontoon boat at noon on Saturday to dive with and observe these gentle creatures. Back on the boat Sunday AM for another manatee encounter and return to the dock by noon. Local seafood restaurants and bars are plentiful and the food can be worth the trip. Stone crab is still in season and, if you can find it, the soft-shell crab in this area is the best. This trip is a good reason to get wet after a several month layoff.
